Significant Others of Healthcare Workers

OK im going to try and revive this community becuase I was looking for one just like this!

My name is Chelsea and I live in Michigan.

About my SO that is in the health care industry
My wonderful boyfriend Piotrek is a Paramedic for a private ambulance company and has been working for them for about ohhhh...3 years-ish.
He passed his paramedic tests in november and so far isnt too crazy about contuing working with this company.
He is thinking about continuing his education and going for Nursing. I support him 110% with whatever he chooses.
He also works contingent (sp?) at a hospital in the ER as a tech.

About me!
I am currently living with my parents and going to school full time in an Interpreter Training Program. I hope to soon finish and get qualified and free-lance interpret. If I decide to continue my education, I would love to go into Deaf Education and teach Deaf children.

Piotr and I have been together a year in March and so far,so GREAT! hah.
I must say, dating a Paramedic is not the easiest relationship ever..but none the less, the best.
He works 24hr shifts 3 times a week and then filling in at the hospital if he feels up to it.
Hes a super hard worker and very professional and smart.
He is quite OCD and everything gets cleaned and washed twice.
Its obviously from work where he gets this little obsession, but its better to be clean than nasty dirty!

Well I hope someone else will help spark this community again becuase it would be great to talk to others in my situation!

Just thought that I would say a hello back.

My husband is also working on getting into nursing, he currently works full time as an EMT for a private company. Thankfully he doesn't do 24s, but his 12 hour shifts regularly turn into 14 hours... It can make for some long days.

I'm on the computer all day at work, so its hard for me to motivate myself to get on the computer at night, I will try!
